Eleanor L (Cullinane) Adams, a resident of Wakefield Ma. And Fort Myers Fl., passed away on January 25, 2012. Eleanor was born in Concord Massachusetts on April 26, 1925 to the late Edward and Loretta (Shattuck) Cullinane. Eleanor was raised and graduated from Concord High School and Bentley College with her Bachelor degree in accounting. Eleanor worked in the accounting departments for such companies as CSE and Varian and owned and operated Colpitts Travel and Shea Corporation. In retirement Eleanor moved to Florida to be close to her daughter, Nancy and work as a volunteer at ECHO. Eleanor held a private pilot's license and was a second degree black belt in Kempo Karate having tested and received her second degree at the age of 82. Eleanor was predeceased in death by her sister Nancy, brothers Edward and Clarence, daughter Nancy and son in Law Christopher. Eleanor is survived by her sisters Pearl Cullinane of Concord Ma., Mary Carchedi of Norwood Ma. Lilly Oliva of Worcester Ma., daughter Mary Lou McCarthy of Wilmington Ma., son John Shelton and his wife Sandra of Wakefield Ma., grandson John Shelton and his wife Colleen of Wakefield Ma., granddaughter Allison Wright and her husband Kurt of Marshfield Ma., grandson Andrew Shelton and his fiancée Christine of Wakefield Ma., grandson Benjamin Dempsey of Seattle WA. and granddaughter Victoria Dempsey of Tampa Fl. Eleanor is also survived by great-granddaughter Grace Marie and two yet to be born great-grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Mass at Saint Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield, on Saturday February 4th, 2012 at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home in Melrose.
