We come here today, not to grieve my mother but to memorialize her amazing life. She was born in Concord, as she use to say Concord “KONKiD” and use to regal me with stories of growing up on Brooks St with her brothers and sisters.
Mom started out doing the books at a place on route one called Kiddie Ranch, worked her way up in various accounting departments, graduated from college in her fifties and went on to own two companies.

Mom started out doing the books at a place on route one called Kiddie Ranch, worked her way up in various accounting departments, graduated from college in her fifties and went on to own two companies. I worked with Mom for 17 years and I can say that during these years we became very close. I learned much about my mother and she taught me many life lessons. We laughed a lot.
Mom held a private pilot’s license and took Shotokan and Kempo Karate, reaching her second degree black belt in Kempo from Master Nohelty. She was so proud of this. Even when she could not do forms Master Nohelty would sit in the chair next to her and do forms sitting down. I remember running the Wakefield YMCA road race with her and she came in last but that didn’t stop her from telling everyone that she came in second in her age group instead of last. I never could stop laughing when I heard that
It is without a doubt that her children won the Mom lottery. Mom was not one to sit on the side lines of life; she was always moving and learning. She traveled and had friends all over the world, some of which still stayed in touch with her. In the past years she did not like traveling alone so she and I traveled to Chile a number of times and she was still planning on going again even though she had her first stroke. She never stopped planning for tomorrow.
Mom was proud of her children and was always telling people about us. In the recent years she had a great relation with her grandchildren and was equally proud of them and their accomplishments. She never tired of seeing her great-grand daughter and was anticipating the arrival of two new great-grandchildren. The grand children still talk about her correcting their grammar and they will have some great memories of their grandma.
Mom had a great sense of humor and was always cracking a joke. I still tell some of them. When they said she would have to use a walker, she was resistant at first but she finally accepted it and then named it, Johnny, Johnny walker. She made friends everywhere and could talk on almost any subject. All my friends were her friends and they have been for years. Ken was her new boyfriend, having met him at the Christmas wrapping party and she was upset when Denny married Janice, but Denny told her, with a smile on his face, that he couldn’t wait for her forever. One of my last memories is of her and Aunt Mary sitting in my kitchen at our Christmas party and holding court with everyone that came in. People remarked that they were the funniest people around and didn’t act their age. Mom never did.
Mom was honest to a fault and had the first nickel she ever made. I remember when we had a cash sale at work and I saw her making a copy of the money so she could enter it into her accounting system. I told her that a cash sale was pocket money and she said it wasn’t so that ended that conversation. You have to laugh. Mom has an immense capacity to forgive. If people crossed her, instead of getting angry she felt compassion for them. She was a great mom, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

My deepest sympathy is extended to Eleanor's children Jack and Mary Lou and the entire extended family. Eleanor was a rare jewel. Always shining. I never saw her without a smile . I will miss her letters that we had recently started penning back and forth. She was truely an inspirational woman and I am blessed to have been called her friend .

I SAW ELEANOR A FEW WEEKS AGO AT SANDIE & JACKS HOUSE FOR CHRISTMAS,AND HAD A NICE CONVERSATION WITH HER. I WORKED FOR SHEA CORP MANY WEARS AGO AND HAD LOTS OF GOOD TIMES WITH ELEANOR THERE SHE ALWAYS HAD TIME TO TALK. RIP ELEANOR LOVE LAURA PLOOFQ

I remember one time when my Aunt's room was upstairs, she stopped me in the hall and asked me to "reshift" her pants. (they were twisting on her). Also, sometimes when I came in , she would see me, catch up to me and she'd ask if I could ride the elevator with her and a couple of her croniesso they could go upstairs

I thank you Eleanor for your kind heart and caring soul as you made it easy knowing my Mom was so happy with you a perfect roomate!. And I know how much Eleanor loved her family and her grandchildren. I know she always looked forward to Andrew brining her that cup of coffee! We will miss her dearly.
