Liboria (Cassaro) Contardo, of Wakefield, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Jan. 17, 2012 at the age of 93. Liboria was born in Boston, raised in East Boston and a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1936. She resided in East Boston until 1954 and Wakefield for the past 57 years. Liboria was a homemaker & a talented Seamstress and worked for Adrian's Fabric in Wakefield for many years. She enjoyed spending time shopping with her many friends at Filene's Basement in downtown crossing. One of Liboria's greatest loves was to ballroom dance; this is where she met her late husband Joseph A. Contardo of 61 years. She was the loving mother of Janice A. McNichols & her husband William of Lynnfield and Ellen J. Crozier & her husband Richard of Wakefield. Devoted sister of Mary "Sue" Mahoney & her late husband Richard of Hudson, Julia Cassaro of Wakefield, Gloria Morrison & her late husband Arthur of Swampscott and the late Adeline Allen, Edith Janielis & Michael Cassaro. Caring sister in law of Clara Lynch of Hudson and Phyllis Cassaro of Wakefield. Also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Jan 24th at 8:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church 49 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 3-7PM. Burial in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Liboria's name to Pacemaker Lab Research Fund @ Mass. General Hospital, ATTN: Dr J.
