Sarah L. (Marsden) Taylor of Saugus, formerly of Melrose, died on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Hearthstone Assisted Living Center of Woburn. She was 93 years old. Born on July 16, 1918 in Charlestown, she was the daughter of the late John F. & Mary (Walsh) Marsden. She attended Charlestown Schools and lived her younger years in Charlestown. Later, she lived in Melrose for over 30 years, was a member of the Church of the Incarnation of Melrose for over 25 years and enjoyed spending time with her family, the Bunker Hill Day Parade, Hampton Beach and making pinatas for the 4th of July parties. Sarah was the wife of the late John T. Joy. She was also the devoted wife of William Taylor, Jr. of Saugus with whom they shared 53 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Bernice J. Blasi & her husband Paul of Winthrop, Judith J. Johnson & her husband Tom of Florida, Jacalyn J. Ponsart & her husband Michael of NH, William P. Taylor of Stoneham & the late Janice K. Page Dunn & the late James M. Taylor. Cherished grandmother of 17, great grandmother of 32 & great, great grandmother of 12. Caring sister of Margaret Foley of N. Reading, Mary Collins of Somerville & the late Estelle Feeney, John Marsden & Joseph Marsden. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, February 7th at 9AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Incarnation 429 Upham St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8PM.
