Theresa M. (Meuse) MacPhee of Melrose, died on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Greenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wakefield at the age of 82 years old. Born on May 4, 1929 in Malden, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. & Mary M. (Vacon) Meuse. Theresa was raised in Malden and a 1947 graduate of Malden High School. Mrs. MacPhee worked at Converse Rubber for many years and met her future husband Peter there. After, she worked as a cook at the Normandy House Nursing Home in Melrose for 20 years. She enjoyed reading, needle point & baking. Theresa was a member of the Church of the Incarnation in Melrose, the past President of the VFW Harold O'Young Post 2394 and loved her family and her cats. She was the devoted wife of the late Peter A. MacPhee with whom they shared 38 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Patricia A. Stooks & her husband Robert of NY, Brian D. MacPhee & his wife Joanne of Melrose, Mary M. Darragh & her husband Robert of Maine & the late Rita M. MacPhee. Cherished grandmother of 8 & great grandmother of 8. Caring sister of Irene Rabey of CA, the late Bernard Meuse & the late Louie Meuse. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral on Thursday, January 19th in the Church of the Incarnation 429 Upham St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Interment is private. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home of Melrose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Theresa's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc. 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
